Outside Broadcasts

The first live Radio Enfield Outside Broadcast was from "The Rummer" pub in Enfield town in the summer of 1974, when we followed Emelyn Hughes on a fun run. From that modest start, we went on to win the Hospital Broadcasting Association Award for the UK's best hospital radio outside broadcast.

Our Roadshows and outside broadcasts have entertained crowds from small school summer fĂȘtes to the 15,000+ crowds at the Scouts annual firework display in Enfield Town Park. Whenever possible we broadcast the event back to the patients in Chase Farm hospital or at least record the event and play back the highlights to them a few days later.

In recent years we have broadcast live on FM radio from the Enfield Autumn Town Show. These programmes included relaying live programmes from the park during the Show and the remainder of the 24 hours a day, programmes came from our studios at the hospital.

Often, rather than covering an event organised by another group, we set up our own show in a local pub and bring in guests to interview and live groups.

The Radio Enfield disco also provides a highly competitive and professional service with the proceeds going to help keep Radio Enfield on air.

Our success is mainly due to the loyal support we receive from past customers who spread the word, but also from our team of Radio Enfield members who help put out a programme that we hope gives our listeners as much pleasure as it does us.

If you would like to hire our OB(Outside Broadcast), Disco or PA services please  send us an email at info@radioenfield.co.uk or leave a message on 020 8363 6000
